12 – 17 November | Photonics innovation mission

Do you have a business in photonics and are you interested in collaboration with Taiwan? Please join us for a photonics trade mission. The mission will be from 12 till 17’th of November 2017. The missions goal for Integrated Photonics is to create new opportunities. We will identify new changes for research & development and strengthen current relations. The mission goal for Fiber optics Sensing is to explore new applications. The program consists of visits to companies, networking meetings, workshops and matchmaking for 2 parallel missions. The first mission focusses on Integrated Photonics and technological collaboration. The other mission focuses on Fiber Sensing and applications.

23 – 26 October | Optics week

Dear colleague precision engineer in optics and optomechanics, The Optics & Optomechanics week is an unique collaboration by Dutch, German and international organisations. This week brings you outstanding speakers and lecturers from semicon to medical, from industry to academia, from Europe and abroad, teaching you about the details and latest trends. In 2013 we had the first bi-annual Optics and Optomechanics event in Eindhoven. In 2015 we had the OpticsWeek in Delft. More than 250 precision engineers joint both events. To extend the community to abroad, we have chosen to organize it in Aachen Germany and to involve German parties to the event. Representatives from acknowledged German industry and institutes are involved.

The Dutch Optics Centre (DOC) is setting up a first research program with multiple (10-15) PHD projects and a group of graduate students. The start is planned for early 2018. The major goals are developing new technologies for optical instruments, and educating top specialists in Optics and Optomechatronics. The research field covered by DOC is broad and covers spectroscopy, imaging, metrology and opto-mechanics.
